The repair shop Detroit's suburbs actually trust.
One van, a garage off Gratiot Avenue, and a stubborn belief that appliance repair could be honest — that's how Motor City Appliance Pros started. Nine years and 31,000+ repairs later, the belief hasn't changed. The fleet has.
Born from 14 years of watching repair done wrong.
Marcus Bell spent 14 years as a factory service technician for major appliance manufacturers — long enough to see the industry's bad habits up close. Call centers that quoted nothing. Techs sent out with empty vans. Homeowners pushed toward replacements they didn't need because a repair "wasn't worth the trip."
In 2017 he bought a used van, filled it with parts, and started answering his own phone. The rules were simple: tell people the price before you start, carry the parts so the job finishes in one visit, and never sell a replacement when a repair will do. Detroit responded. Word spread from Warren to Taylor, and one van became a fleet of eight.
Today the shop covers the city of Detroit and nine metro suburbs, but the phone still gets answered the same way — by someone who can actually tell you what's likely wrong with your fridge.
No anonymous crews. These are your technicians.
The people who ring your doorbell, by name — each background-checked, factory-trained and licensed.
14 years factory service before founding the shop. Sub-Zero and sealed-system specialist. East side born and raised.
10 years on washers and dryers, gas and electric. The tech who checks the vent, not just the part.
13 years on ovens, ranges and cooktops. Certified on the Viking and Wolf lines in the metro's nicer kitchens.
11 years chasing drain faults and tub bearings. Finds the leaks other techs miss.
8 years on control boards and high-voltage systems. Meticulous where it matters most.
10 years in refrigeration. Takes the Scotsman and U-Line jobs other shops turn away.
Four rules from the first van. Still the rules.

5,000+ parts ride with us so 94% of jobs end on the first visit.
Repair, not replace
If a $180 fix beats a $2,000 replacement, that's what we recommend. Full stop.
Stand behind it
90 days on parts and labor, in writing. The fault returns, so do we — free.
"Repair, not replace" isn't a slogan. It's landfill math.
America scraps millions of appliances a year, and a shocking share still had years of life left — they just met a repair company that made more money selling new ones. We think that's backwards, economically and environmentally.
Every washer we save from the curb is a few hundred pounds of steel that doesn't get scrapped, refrigerant that doesn't get vented, and money that stays in a Metro Detroit family's pocket. Fixing things is what this city has always done best — we're just applying it to the kitchen.
And when a unit genuinely isn't worth saving? We say so, plainly, and help you choose a replacement that will last — without selling you one ourselves. No inventory, no conflict of interest.

Brands We Work With
Detroit pride isn't decoration here.
The shop sponsors two east-side little league teams, donates refurbished appliances to a Downriver housing charity, and gives a standing discount to seniors and veterans across all nine suburbs we serve. When the neighborhood shows up for you for nine years, you show up back.
You'll also find our techs teaching free "know your appliance" mini-sessions at community centers in Warren and Southgate a few times a year — because the best service call is the one you never need to make.
Reviews and real jobs
"Used them in three different houses over six years now. Same honest treatment every time. This is what a local business should be."
"They fixed what two other companies said was unfixable, for less than either quoted to replace it. The real deal."
"You can tell the techs actually like the work. Explained everything, cleaned up after, warranty in writing. Rare company."
Now you know who's behind the wrench.
